WELCOME
“Life equals movement
and movement equals life.”
We provide a specialist physiotherapy service in Northumberland
which uses the movement of horses to help people with movement disorders
enhance their movement experience and movement ability.
Hippotherapy (from Greek hippos = horse) is a specialist
physiotherapy intervention that makes use of the
movement impulses of  a walking horse to correct and
improve movement in the person on horseback. Research
has shown that hippotherapy is particularly beneficial for
people with neurological disorders that affects their ability
to move.
We provide a hippotherapy service to children and adults
with a range of movement disorders. Our chair and lead
physiotherapist has extensive research expertise, as well
as personal experience of cerebral palsy and hippotherapy.
This makes Horse Power for Ability unique in the UK,
probably world-wide.
